Signal 37 Rocks Blender's Socks

Once again this summer, Blender has opened its doors to a brilliantly talented and enthusiastic group of young people as part of Signal 37s creative arts program.

Each day we enjoyed seeing what these 20 colourful stars would bring to the program, each one offering a unique style and perspective across the extensive landscape of street art. Working side by side with some of Melbourne's most prominent street artists, the young people were mentored through a variety of mediums to penetrate deep into the realms of urban art and discover why people create street art, how they create it and what it can achieve.

"I find the whole 10 day workshop such an inspiring process... it motivates me to keep constantly creating and pursuing my love for art" one young person told us on the final day, and this is the second year she has joined us for the street art mentoring program.

The jam packed itinerary for the two weeks included paste-up workshops with Baby Guerilla, stencil workshops with Ha-Ha, free-hand workshops with Caper, collage workshops with Phoenix, installation workshops with Junkie Projects as well as constant mentoring on production and artist development from Adrian Doyle.

The entire Blender team has been extremely impressed with the outcomes and final pieces the group created, and heart-warmed by the overall receptivity and creative passion that flooded the studios throughout this incredible program.

To all the students who joined us for Signal 37 2015 we want to say thank-you for sharing with us your beautiful minds, and paint on!
