Dept. Justice Mural Projects

This year we did a number of projects with the Department of Justice, working with their young offenders to deliver a comprehensive art workshop program with mural outcome. The idea was to get the young offenders working with our artists on a number of workshops, to then develop their own ideas for 2 x murals in two different regions raising awareness about violence against women.

Working with young offenders on such a sensitive topic was not easy, but the young people tried really hard to come up with ideas for the mural designs. These ideas were then taken by the lead artists and curator, Adrian Doyle, to create a cohesive, well-composed mural with an important message.
